REMOTE EDITING

How We Work: Remote Classical Music Editing

Editing is where a great recording becomes a finished performance. It’s the detailed, often invisible craft that shapes how a listener experiences the music. At marinegrau, we offer Remote Classical Music Editing to clients worldwide, delivering the same artistic and technical quality as in-person sessions.

What Is Remote Music Editing?

Remote editing means you don’t have to be physically present in our studio to collaborate with us. You send us the recorded material, and we take care of the postproduction. Whether your recording took place in Berlin, Tokyo, or New York, we can take your session and craft a polished master that meets the highest artistic standards.

We specialise in classical music recording production, and our editing is done by Tonmeisters with over 10 years of experience. This includes multitrack cutting, performance assembly, noise reduction, and all musical decisions required to deliver an emotionally compelling and technically perfect result.

Step by Step workflow

  1. Material Delivery
You provide your raw audio material via a secure cloud upload. We accept Pro Tools, Pyramix, Cubase/Nuendo or Sequoia sessions, but mostly recommend BWAV-files.
  2. Consultation (Optional)
We offer a call or email exchange before we begin, so we can understand the musical goals, artistic preferences, and specific expectations.
  3. First Editing Pass
We prepare a musical edit based on the score, performance, and take notes if available. All decisions are made musically and with a critical ear, just like in traditional in-house postproduction.
  4. Attended Session (Optional)
Want to be part of the process? We offer attended editing sessions via video call with real-time hi-res audio streaming. You’ll hear what we hear, directly from our studio, and you can give feedback or make decisions on the fly.
  5. Review and Revisions
You receive the edited version (or preview exports) for review. We refine the edit based on your feedback if needed.
  6. Delivery
Once approved, we send over the final edited files in your preferred format: mix-ready or already mixed and mastered.

What It’s Like to Work With Us

At marinegrau, we treat editing as a musical and collaborative process and not just a technical one. Our background in Tonmeister training means we think like musicians and listen like producers. Clients describe our process as efficient, transparent, and above all, musically sensitive.

Whether you’re a recording producer, label, or ensemble manager, you’ll find that working remotely doesn’t mean compromising on quality. On the contrary, it opens the door to professional editing, no matter where the recording was made.
